$750 Million Worth of Crypto Tokens Set for Release in December

December is poised to see the release of vested digital assets worth around $750 million across the cryptocurrency market.

Leading this wave is the decentralized exchange dYdX, which intends to unlock 150 million tokens. These tokens, primarily designated for investors, founders, and staff, are currently valued at close to $500 million. This release, initially planned for February, has been rescheduled to December 1, 2023, at 12:00 am UTC, with additional releases slated from January to June 2024.

Other key players are also gearing up for token releases. According to Token Unlocks, a service tracking token data, the Ethereum layer-2 network Optimism will unlock 24 million Optimism (OP) tokens, estimated to be worth about $41 million, on November 30.

In a similar vein, the decentralized finance protocol 1inch Network is set to release around 98 million 1inch (1INCH) tokens on December 1, with a current market value of approximately $33 million.

Aptos, a proof-of-stake blockchain project, is also on the list for a significant token release in December. Per Token Unlocks data, Aptos plans to unlock nearly 25 million Aptos (APT) tokens, valued at nearly $180 million, on December 12.
